Stripe and Paradigm have unveiled Tempo, a high-speed LAYER 1 blockchain designed to facilitate global stablecoin transactions. The platform promises 100,000 transactions per second with sub-second finality, targeting enterprise-scale payments such as payroll and remittances.

Built on Ethereum-compatible Reth, Tempo maintains full EVM compatibility while introducing features like opt-in privacy and dedicated payment lanes. Its architecture includes an enshrined automated market maker, allowing gas fees to be paid in stablecoins for seamless user experience.
